10. License

Aefos AI is free software under the GNU GPL v3 — all of it. There are no editions, no licence key, no activation and no trial: every feature is in the build you download, including the Terminal, the MCP server and the agent tools, for personal, educational and commercial use alike.

The two additional permissions

Granted under section 7 of the GPL (see ADDITIONAL-PERMISSIONS.md):

• The code Aefos writes for you is yours. It is not covered by the GPL and is not a derivative work of Aefos. Build closed-source, commercial products with it and licence them however you like — using a tool does not infect what you make with it.
• Linking with the RAD Studio libraries is allowed. A design-time package cannot exist without designide, which is not GPL-compatible; without this permission no working build could be distributed at all.

What you may do with Aefos itself

Use it, study it, change it, and pass it on — under the GPL, which asks that whoever receives your modified version gets the same freedom, and the source with it. The licence that governed Aefos before 5 August 2026, when it was proprietary, is kept for the record in EULA-historical.md.
